Sabina Dalipova: The food and service were both amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's extremely popular, and it's easy to see why. Here's what I tried:The shrimp corn dogs were exceptional—I could taste the freshness of the shrimp! They were served with a mustard/blueberry sauce that was simply fantastic. The pretzel and pimento cheese were delightful. The pretzels were warm and delicious, and the pimento cheese was wonderfully creamy and savory. The Chicken Fried steak was massive, and the mashed potatoes were both creamy and garlicky—I loved them. The chicken steak itself was delicious, and the gravy sauce on top made it absolutely perfect.

gena zehner: Marissa was a great server and made the experience so great. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Thanks for the enjoyable experience Marissa.Dietary restrictions: Was asked up front which is always nice but no restrictions.

Christine Wilson: We sat at the bar and had a lovely experience. Bartender who waited on us was attentive and nice to chat with. Even the valet had great recommendations about what to order. The vegetarian options are extensive and delicious. Loved the cornbread. They surprised us with two desserts, which was excessive, but they were both so good we couldn't help but finish them. Can't wait to come back again.

Shannon: This place is exceptional. Terrific food, drinks, staff, and vibe. Very knowledgeable and accommodating of dietary restrictions. Upscale feeling but it’s not pretentious. A reservation in advance is the only option. A couple of times I tried to go during off times without a reservation, thinking a couple of seats might be available at the bar. The restaurant was always packed and had so many reservations lined up that there wasn’t the option to wait for seats to be available.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free foods. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, and the kitchen is willing to make modifications when possible.Parking: The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking. It’s the only option - only the valet can park cars in the small and awkwardly laid out parking lot.

Paul Phelps: First? Very expensive. Highest quality food AND service, but you WILL pay for it.The menu changes every month so not for picky eaters. Very cognizant of food allergies though.Quite possibly the greatest hamburger I've ever eaten. Amazing.$36 burger before gratuity, so they know what they have, but still Austin's best hamburger... until it's replaced with something else on the menu.

Bri Cryar: , I tell everyone Odd Duck is my #1 — no contest. Every menu item I have tried has been phenomenal, and some of my favorites include the stuffed quail and peanut butter budino

wheresamber: , grilled broccoli

Amy “FabulousFoodie”: AMAZING dinner tonight @oddduckaustin here in Austin, TX …everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about this place makes it a MUST dine favorite when in Austin!Beautiful restaurant with that southern charm feel… Super friendly staff that provided amazing suggestions, perfect timing of every dish that was brought out to the table and the most unique flavors that pulled together local, seasonal ingredients beautifully! And being gluten-free, I appreciated that they have a dedicated gluten-free menu!!Highly recommend this place! Promise you won’t leave disappointed!😉Dietary restrictions: They have an amazing dedicated gluten-free menu!

Cheryl Spencer: I like this restaurant but can only fo once a year. $22 for a steak salad! Also, the wait staff was sleeping the floor near my table. I really don't like that because I imagine dust and particle being swept into the air and into my food. I prefer wait staff to wait to clean when I leave or at empty tables away from mine.Oh and FTI they place can be noisy if busy since floors ate conctete.

Greg Lawrence: . Ask for him and you won’t be sorry. We had the Gorgonzola ravioli, pimento cheese dip, and the Texas fried shrimp.

John Little: The weekend buffet is no more. Been out of the country for a few years and apparently COVID took the buffet too. Sad to see so many awesome Austin things disappear. Hate to give a star review because this is just informative for anyone wanting to go to the buffet.

Bo Winter: Always enjoy coming to Capital Grille when the opportunity arises. Food is fantastic and the wait staff is always engaging to contribute to the experience; not simply asking if we need a refill or "thinking about dessert." Obviously a bit pricey, so this isn't a location where I frequently can be found, but for special occasions, I would always recommend it for a nice date out, business dinner, etc.

Andrew Goh: Yesterday, heavy rain in Austin led us to seek refuge in a nearby bar while hunting for a satisfying BBQ joint. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a charming, slightly upscale restaurant nearby. Serendipitously, we encountered a fellow countrywoman at the reception who warmly welcomed us and escorted us to our table. She graciously engaged us in conversation and treated us to complimentary wine, while also recommending must-try dishes. We began with the South African lobster tail, delighting in its perfectly cooked meat and buttery sauce, which paired impeccably with our wine selection. As an avid oyster enthusiast, I couldn't resist ordering half a dozen, savoring their briny sweetness. Although the tuna tartare was fresh, it lacked the flavor punch I anticipated, though still enjoyable. Our meal concluded with lamb chops accompanied by Brussels sprouts cooked with bacon bits. While the sprouts were overly sweet for my taste, the lamb chops suffered from slight overcooking, possibly due to their thin cut, diminishing the meat's inherent sweetness during grilling. Great service and attentive!

Brandi: Food was great, perfectly cooked steaks, amazing sauces and sides, everything was perfect.Amazing service as well, our server Chris G. was attentive while leaving us space, and gave great service and recommendations throughout the night. Thank you Chris and the whole Capital team!

a rob: Place is pretty good. I normally goto Eddie V’s but I was super impressed. Good was good. Ribeye with balsamic glaze done pitsburg was super tender and flavorful. Cream of spinach, lobster Mac, mash potato’s, potato’s Au Gratin were all good. I still think eddy V’s waiters are more on point and professional. Capital is definitely going to be visited quite often.

D Shands: OR the Austin Stir Fry

Shawn Haupage: I don’t normally eat vegan food but I thought this sandwich tasted excellent.

Kavitha Krishnan: This is definitely a must go place for vegan and vegetarian food. The Tarzen big salad was so filling, refreshing and filled with portobellos and broccoli. The veggie royale is also a great choice for a burger sandwich fusion. Many vegan eateries have high amount of salt and soy, but this place uses fresh and in house ingredients. The ambience was quite busy and the tables were kinda sticky, but those didn’t matter because the food was delicious!

Michaela Gallagher: , they have gluten free bread options, and the staff is attentive and kind. Great place to come and hang out, meet people and feel like you’re part of the community.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Friendly

Janell Eckes: FANTASTIC food!! The spicy chipotle pesto was amazing! Wish I could have brought a jar of it home. The curry was far better than we expected. Big portions of both.My friend said the coffee was a bit weak, but my cortado was excellent!Really friendly, relaxed service.Chalkboard walls in the bathroom stalls with buckets of chalk provided 😁

Nika Moeini: Reuben sandwich at Bouldin Creek Cafe was really yummy as was the salad I had! So nice to find a place with nourishing food in Austin. The blueberry cornbread was also indeed worth it and delicious. The staff are nice and helped my friend who got the jackfruit curry which was too spicy for her. It was busy but we were able to get seated pretty soon. Overall I would recommend it and I’m really happy this place exists. I appreciate the gluten free options as well.Vegetarian options: An abundant menu of optionsDietary restrictions: Yay for yummy gluten free bread!

Persephone Underworld: Stopped here to catch up with friends while traveling. Eat outside at night for a Tumblr aesthetic. Great food, great service and not a bad price for what you get. The blueberry cornbread changed me. Not much in way of parking but it's worth hunting for a spot or maybe ride sharing. Support this eclectic business with a variety of food for everyone!

Austin K: They have an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu with a ton of variety--breakfast food, mexican food, comfort food, desserts, drinks, and most of it is delicious. My only complaints were that the desserts were often too sweet and a little one note, and the surcharge they add makes it pretty expensive depending on what you get. Still worth it though.

Freddy Rios: I arrived at 10am to do the line. I was seated with my food at 230pm. Probably the brisket that I have had in my life. I didn’t get the ribs because the group before me took the last ones. Amazing food, nice atmosphere and people watching- specially those who give up after 2 hours or 3… But I take 1 star off for service. I think they could have 2-3 serving lines and save their customers the suffering of waiting 4.5 hours for food. I will not go back again, but it was a one in a lifetime experience.Parking: Parking is limited and it becomes risky as the line goes around the parking lot; and some drivers are not the best at parking or pulling from a tight parking spot.Kid-friendliness: I would not make my children wait 4.5 hours for bbq. I saw parents struggling trying to keep their kids entertained.

Vignesh Krishnamoorthy: This is THE bbq place. Wait times are huge, and it is a great experience waiting in line. The service is amazing.Almost all of the meats are as described by everybody else; just amazing. The sides however are satisfactory.

Sharyn: .After a while a staff member advised us all that we could use the bathrooms and/or purchase merchandise inside the restaurant if we wanted.Next, a staff member came along to note

David Benson: Such a fun experience, waiting in line met a local college kid on break from Peace Corp, and a super cool couple from the Bay Area. Kinda has a tailgating atmosphere. Got in line at 830ish on a Friday and the line soon wrapped around the corner. We were about 30-40 in line at that time. Sara was an awesome server. Ask for her if you really want to have a great experience inside and possibly a tour of the smoke room. The brisket is legendary for a reason and lives up to the hype. If you're lucky, get a beef rib for an extra treat. Be prepared to wait but have a good time meeting people.

Zachary Jordan: Six briskets to the door. Nine briskets to the steps.

Scott Rowley: I’ve never waited four hours for food before but this was worth it. People you are in line with will soon become your friends, you can order cold beverages while in line, and they come out to update you on estimates and what types of food they will still have by the time you make the counter. Next time I’d bring a chair. I smoke meat at home and can’t figure out the exact details on how they get it so tender

Willyam Moura: O churrasco é muito bom, carne bem macia, no ponto certo, o Brisket estava sensacional, recomendo e voltaria, o unico problema é o estacionamento.Parking: Parking is very bad, with few spaces.

Peter Nincompoop: The reviews mirrored my experience. Got in line at 1030am. By 1045 someone came out and explained that washrooms are open and people can come grab drinks while they wait. Told my section of line we were looking at 2.5 hr wait and just turkey might get low by the time we get there. Brought a book so was prepared but people in line very chatty and friendly. If a "good line" exists this is the closest thing to it. About 1115am when another employee came by asking about your planned order to help keep people informed and keep tabs on stock. Exactly 2.5 hrs later got to front and had a moment with a very friendly cutter. Just like they predicted, turkey was just 86'd so went with a Lbs of brisket and a sausage. Went with take out cuz 2+ hrs in Texas heat had me wanting my AC hotel room for lunch. Everything is packed in paper but they threw in all the fixens and we could takeout out a couple ramekins of BBQ sauce. Great experience all around. The staff have this down to a science and really felt like they respected my time, knowing we were all gonna wait hours for BBQ.

Lindsey Hiner: By 10:45 the groups in front of us had all grown in party size and someone announced that they were sold out of ALL meat. They seemed very apologetic, which helped everyone feel less crappy about the situation. It's just unfortunate that they allow such large orders per person

Felipe Figueiredo Camara: , but the food is heavenly, a solid 11/10; that brisket is absolutely beyond human comprehension.

Jqiatx: .Chefs kiss.Dietary restrictions: They were champs. Marco was phenomenal in guiding me with my dietary needs.Parking: They have an old 3 lot layout. None interconnected. So pick one at a time I guess. And may the odds be in your favor.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.

Jackie Giusti: . The MIXIOTE lamb was huge, but basically just melts off the bone. Heavily sauced, so would get it with less next time, but it was an amazing dish. The margaritas were also well made. There was struggle to understand the differences in the pescado dishes, but ultimately went with the Mojo de ajo and was completely impressed. Immensely flavorful and well made.Went again and got both the enchiladas Pato and the pescado zarandeado... They said the pescado wouldn't be spicy but I found it to be incredibly hot. I think it was chipotle that was put on their brussel sprouts. When I could not eat it, they brought out the mojo de Ajo which was very flavorless in comparison to the last time I had bought it. The duck enchiladas were very good however.

Abi Tammen: It doesn’t get any better than this. Nothing here is bad. Close your eyes and order. You’ll love everything.Happy hours excellent so many good app choices.I recommend the crêpe dessert and the café to end your night.Unfortunately, it’s not as big as it used to be pretty sad about that. Fonda San Miguel if you actually read these, please make your crêpe dessert back to its original size.

Karen G: Whether I go for brunch or dinner, everything at Launderette is always perfection! This is my “neighborhood go-to” for a reason! The food is delicious, shareable and always gets rave reviews from my guests. I love sitting on the patio when the weather allows but the inside aesthetics are top notch. Love this place so much.

Ryan Clark: Launderette had amazing happy hour. I was looking for a great place that was dog friendly that I could also get some great food. The service was great and the food was even better.Parking: Parking infront of resturant fills up quick, but there is also another lot next door and plenty of street parking.

Jaime Olson: Visiting from NH. Set bar reservations for this place and didn't regret it. Started with crab toast, absolutely amazing. Then got the whole branzino, it was amazing. Go here, you'll love it.

Patrick Madden: Food audacious. Service attentive. Drinks hit the mood. Overall 5/5 recommend.

L Irons: We made a pit stop at the Salty Sow on our way from the airport to Georgetown, TX for the ellipse viewing. Nothing was disappointing. From the shrimp hush puppies to the duck fat fries and the charcuterie board, no morsel of food was spared. Our party of 6 including 4 year old toddlers also sampled burgers, the shaved beef sandwich and the tacos and everything came out quick, fresh and delicious. We saved the best for last with the raspberry pound cake. I'm a true Southern girl and I normally don't try pound cake unless it's made from my kitchen. But this one was worth it ... They didn't cut corners with Sara Lee. Lol.I'd definitely give this place another go when I return to Austin. Food was amazing, ambience was wonderful and the service was superb.Kid-friendliness: We were seated outside which has table top seating which might not be as great for kids who are just really learning how to balance themselves outside of. High chair. My for year olds did fine but just something to not.

Ignacio Losa: Salty Sow is a really nice place with a beautiful decor, that make you feel super relaxed. We went during happy hour, and it was crowded with people constantly coming in, which is a great sign. We didn't have to wait long to be seated, and once we were, the service was friendly and super quick.Happy hour dishes were really tasty, though the portions were a bit small. Overall, it was a good experience!

Max Tollefsen: Came here on the recommendation of a restaurant owner in Houston whose food I love. I drove out here from South Austin with three friends and I'm happy I did.The place was near full at the time with a 20 minute wait to order then another 20 or so for food to come out but it was worth it. Food was amazing. Got to try the beef fajita taco, chicken fajita taco, pulled chicken sandwich, and the sliced brisket sandwich. Everything was so good I had trouble deciding what to make my last bite and end on.The inside is beautiful with a rustic feel in a small warehouse like space and the back wall is almost all glass so you get a great view of the outside. Can't wait to come here again.Parking: Parking on site with plenty of available spots. Street parking also nearby but doubt you'll need it.

henry cadena: . The beans were ok, just bland. And not much to say about the pulled pork.I'd still recommend this place because of the atmosphere and the brisket and tacos were great. I'd like to try the ribs but they were out. I recognize that this place also has a lot of service issues given what's been told to me by other friends and also looks like the owner is getting new management. I look forward to visiting again once it opens back up.

Desiree Farmer: Food: 5/5

SamE: The meat was SO tender and all the sides were great! We got the brisket, beef ribs, creamed corn, coleslaw, green beans, Mac + Cheese and cornbread. They charge you by the pound for the meat, so next time we probably won't get the beef rib because there's a huge heavy bone that you're getting charged for, not just the meat. Also when you're sitting outside, make sure not to leave your food unattended because the birds aren't shy!! 😂 Might just steal a noodle off your plate.

Holly Johnson: We loved our barbecue meal at Terry Black’s! The line was long, but it moved quickly and it was nice to get a cold beer while waiting in line. We ordered the brisket, pork ribs and cheese sausage with mac & cheese, coleslaw, and beans & rice as sides. I don’t know why no one has mentioned the beans and rice in their reviews. They were phenomenal! The brisket was delicious as was the sausage. Don’t bother with the pork ribs stick with the beef ribs. The mac & cheese was also really good . Definitely hit up Terry Black’s if you are in Austin!

MJ: My friend recommended this place as one of the top barbecue spots in Austin. We had beef brisket, beef rib, sausage, banana pudding, coleslaw, and potato salad. The meats were tender with a smoky flavor. Unfortunately, they were a bit too salty, making it hard to fully enjoy the taste. This place was the saltiest barbecue I've had in Texas. The banana pudding was just ordinary and had a slightly off taste. However, the coleslaw and potato salad were good. Be prepared for a long wait; I waited more than 40 minutes for my order on a Monday evening.Parking: They have their own parking lot, but finding openings can be difficult. There is a paid parking place near the restaurant.

Allison Foster: The line moves quickly. However, be strong, they will talk you into waaay more than you need or want and the next thing you know your tray is $50+ for one person! If you don't plan on going home right away you end up wasting a lot of delicious food.2 slices of smoked turkey was 16$ alone, not including sides. Mac and cheese & banana pudding was crazy good!

naijayemm: The guy at the takeout counter was very helpful. He brought me two samples of the kale aid refresher juice and bright eyes to try before purchasing which I appreciate! I bought the kale aid with some orange juice for sweetness. I also ordered the smoked Gouda turkey burger which was delicious! This was better than most standard turkey burgers I’ve eaten. Flavorful and fulfilling. I also got the umami potatoes which were yum. I would order this lunch again. Parking can be tricky if you can’t find any on the street.
