Kaveh Espili: I absolutely loved my stay here. I stayed here for several weeks during the summer of 2019 remember my time here very fondly. The staff is extremely hospitable and the property is beautiful. The rooms are exceptionally clean and modern and the salt water pool is amazing. I’m planning another trip to Austin this summer and will definitely be booking at the fairmont!

Ebone' W.: This hotel gives ALL the vibes, ALL of them! We stayed during the Texas relays, and everything was perfect. Immediately greeted when checking in, was offered champagne and was upgraded to a city view on a high floor. They don't have an M-Lounge, so we were given breakfast vouchers instead.Rooms are a decent size and really cute. As others stated, the shower is in an open space, so birthday suits will definitely be shown if people walk in and out of the room...HA! The room had a record player , and you can check out records to play, but our stay was too short to take advantage.Now, this rooftop, though!!! I spent all afternoon and evening up there. It's absolutely gorgeous and has a fire pit and heat lamps if needed. Add a bar, food, pool, cabanas, light music and a view.... yall know where I'll be!Breakfast is menu only, and something about those scrambled eggs and their breakfast potatoes wants me to return for just that. I can't speak for lunch or dinner, but as a non breakfast person, it was very good!Lots of places in walking distance, so no worries having to leave the immediate area if you don't want to. Again, we loved it and wish we were there more than 1 night. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!
Daniel Tarsetti: This place was comfortable with a prime location downtown and a couple of cool bars- one classy one downstairs and one poolside on the roof. They have a record player in each room and a record store downstairs where you can grab whatever vinyls they have for your room with the help of their onsite record hander-outter. Only negative is they didn't have a cot for us when a 3rd buddy joined us for the night.

Jqiatx: Comfort and care: when I need to feel taken care of this is where I come.I love sitting on the back patio, as the namesake implies, during all 4 seasons.In colder months there are tables with fire pits in the center, plentiful and tastefully placed heaters, and my personal favorite fluffy lap blankets.The kids giggle at the novelty of a champagne vending machine instead of candy bars.The food is excellent: even the kids food was perfectly prepared.I am a working single mom - I seldom receive any “care” and am always giving it. This is a splurge that I find worthy every penny. The service is the best in town. It is attentive but manages to be elegantly and quietly done. It’s where I get to come and feel fully taken care of.

Charlie Wagers: Having spent hundreds, maybe thousands of nights in hotels over the years, Hotel San José is a stay that stands out as one of the best.South Congress is all hustle and bustle, jam packed with all of the retail stores that are always clogging up the ads in my Instagram feeds. This hotel provided what I believe may be one of the last authentic experiences left in the area. Thoughtfully designed and it oozes "cool." Despite the nearby proximity to all of the popular shops and restaurants, the rooms are a quiet retreat with all of the amenities we could hope for.Warm welcoming hospitality, specifically from Tricia, Jesika and Emma. We're grateful for being provided a comfortable stay, and look forward to coming back. Thank you!
Amanda Fritts: We stayed here for a girls trip and it was absolute perfection. The staff were so generous and kind. Rooms were very spacious and we loved the lounge and pool to spend time together as group. You truly forget you are on bustling South Congress because the grounds are so lush and filled with birds. We booked the adjoining courtyard king rooms to allow for space for five and it was PERFECT for a group staying together. The balconies overlooking the lounge felt so special! Absolutely will visit again!

Teresa: First of all the lake view was beautiful! I looked forward every morning to wake up and see the lake. I love that the boat cruise was right there and the running trail. The lobby was nice and the house keeping was on point with cleaning in a timely manner. The cons were that the rooms were not sound proof I can hear people talk and it was pretty small for a room for 2 beds. The gym is small but has the necessities. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and will come back!Nearby activities: The cruise boats and swan rides are literally by the hotel.
D Hunt: Nicely restored. Water front location on the walking and bike path around the lake. Small pool with a nice deck. The casual lobby restaurant was good, but was the only choice within easy walking distance. Boring cocktail bar. The primary attraction is the huge number of bats living in a bridge that come out at dusk in warm weather - the primary observation location is a quarter mile up the path and will have a thousand or more people, along with rental and tour boats.Rooms: Huge difference in room views so as for water front.Nearby activities: Boat tours and rental boats within a few feet of the hotel property. Worth doing.Walkability: Not walkable except for the lovely paved path around the lake.

Andrew Grover: While the majority of my friends were at different hotels around Austin I had the privilege of staying at this hotel. The location was superb and the restaurants were terrific. The Bartenders at the Roaring Fork and the upstairs Cigar/Bourbon Lounge were so fun to talk with and the views of the Texas Capitol were phenomenal. The room had everything you needed. It was not crowded at all, which I loved but that seemed to be a rarity!
Eric Rodriguez: Nice boutique hotel, directly next to the Paramount Theatre. I took my wife to a show next door for her birthday, and we decided to stay in Austin instead of driving back at night. You can't beat the location and the food/drink options here and around here are prevalent. Valet parking was convenient. The rooms are nice and cozy with good views. Some of the charging ports were a little dated a the desk and only one side table had plug options, but we found a way to get everything plugged in. We had originally picked this hotel because it had an indoor pool, but the pool was way too chlorinated to enter and it was uncomfortable just being in the room. All-in-all, we'll had a good stay and will probably be back if we have plans in the immediate area again.Rooms: Nice rooms, but I noticed that all the plugs on the desk were loose and wouldn't hold a plug. There also weren't any USB ports at the desk. The bed had USB ports for charging on one side, but none on the other. No USB-c charging ports. Shower/Tub Combo and separate powder area in the bathroom. Single vanity, but reasonable amount of counter space with a small shelf and powder area.Nearby activities: Bars, theaters, and restaurants surround the place.Walkability: Very walkable to the capital, UT, 6th street, and other downtown hot spots.
Justin Godwin: The location can't be beat! The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel -- from the common areas to the rooms -- are nice and clean. However the rooms are in need of a refresh as they are looking quite dated. I also noticed what could only be described as chlorine upon arrival to my room, as if there was a swimming pool located down the hall from me on the 16th floor. My only guess is it's the cleaning products used for bathroom sanitation? Regardless, the room was comfy and quiet.

Colin Diamond: Hotel Van Zandt has a great location and a wonderful staff. You could not ask for better amenities. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Austin!Walkability: It was very close to Rainey Avenue and the river.
Susanna Shankar: Great hotel in Austin. The service, pool, and amenities were definitely highlights. We also loved dining at Geraldines for some vegetarian options. The daily happy hour is great as well. The rooms were clean, comfortable and modern.While the location by the river and greenbelt is great, be prepared for noise from Rainy Street and hotel events.They have a lot of work to do in terms of sustainability though. I almost took off 2 stars for their excessive single use plastic use. You can't get "for here cups" at their cafe, the water in their lobby uses single use cups, the pool is all single-use, and aside for perks for not cleaning your room there aren't many eco-initiatives. Would love to see this improve!
Sebastian Gabler: This is a great option to stay in Austin. The rooftop pool is a plus.Saturdays can be on the noisy side.Nearby activities: Rainy Street is a must.
Kayleigh Avants: We absolutely loved this place. We will be staying here every time we go to Austin in the future. It’s located right on Rainey Street making everything walking distance for a night out or Sunday funday with our dogs. They’re very pet friendly! In fact, we left the room for a little while and left our little chihuahua in there and when we came back, there was an adorable little dog bed placed in there for her by the housekeeping crew. Apparently they provide dog beds, bowls, and treats if you ask! I will say there’s not really many grassy areas nearby with all the new construction so potty time for pets is a challenge. Everything was very clean and comfortable! Very accommodating staff! Perfect weekend getaway.

Gautam Andotra: Great location, Staff, Amenities and Food. The locations is really great, nice views, close to almost every thing in Austin. The pool, restaurant and bar are great. The on-site food is really really good. Staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. Parking is very convenient at the garage or valet. Location was safe and secure. Unfortunately, certain issues kept me from giving it 5 stars. The rooms are dated, need a refresh. Things like seeing room service items sitting in the hallway for a day is not ideal. They also didn’t adhere to some of my booking notes, and left a bottle of wine when we said we don’t drink. It’s the little things that can take this resort to the next level.
Jana Nolen: We picked this hotel on a whim for a very last minute trip to Austin during SxSW. The hotel was amazing and everyone we encountered was incredibly welcoming. The room was perfect, clean, and felt more cozy than the normal hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep! We will definitely go back to this hotel.
