Kaveh Espili: I absolutely loved my stay here. I stayed here for several weeks during the summer of 2019 remember my time here very fondly. The staff is extremely hospitable and the property is beautiful. The rooms are exceptionally clean and modern and the salt water pool is amazing. I’m planning another trip to Austin this summer and will definitely be booking at the fairmont!

Charlie Wagers: Having spent hundreds, maybe thousands of nights in hotels over the years, Hotel San José is a stay that stands out as one of the best.South Congress is all hustle and bustle, jam packed with all of the retail stores that are always clogging up the ads in my Instagram feeds. This hotel provided what I believe may be one of the last authentic experiences left in the area. Thoughtfully designed and it oozes "cool." Despite the nearby proximity to all of the popular shops and restaurants, the rooms are a quiet retreat with all of the amenities we could hope for.Warm welcoming hospitality, specifically from Tricia, Jesika and Emma. We're grateful for being provided a comfortable stay, and look forward to coming back. Thank you!
Amanda Fritts: We stayed here for a girls trip and it was absolute perfection. The staff were so generous and kind. Rooms were very spacious and we loved the lounge and pool to spend time together as group. You truly forget you are on bustling South Congress because the grounds are so lush and filled with birds. We booked the adjoining courtyard king rooms to allow for space for five and it was PERFECT for a group staying together. The balconies overlooking the lounge felt so special! Absolutely will visit again!

Marty West: . One star off for unsafe stairs near my room. Top step is about 3" taller than two lower steps. Steps and ramps have been replaced since original construction and remodeling contractor blew it here. There is clearly space to install three evenly space steps but contractor didn't and property owner accept bad workmanship. Probably a building code violation too.

Jillian Sutherland: bathrooms. Honestly the only other place I’ve seen a hotel this clean is Disney World. Whoever owns this hotel puts loving care into it and must take care of the staff because everyone was so nice. I’d come back in a heartbeat.The only downside is the water taste and smell in the room BUT they have a free to use filtered water machine in the lobby. They can’t really control the tap water in the city. Also - don’t stay here if you want to be in the heart of downtown. We were traveling as a family so having things in walking distance wasn’t a priority to us.Rooms: Updated but not “luxurious”

Andrew Grover: While the majority of my friends were at different hotels around Austin I had the privilege of staying at this hotel. The location was superb and the restaurants were terrific. The Bartenders at the Roaring Fork and the upstairs Cigar/Bourbon Lounge were so fun to talk with and the views of the Texas Capitol were phenomenal. The room had everything you needed. It was not crowded at all, which I loved but that seemed to be a rarity!
Eric Rodriguez: Nice boutique hotel, directly next to the Paramount Theatre. I took my wife to a show next door for her birthday, and we decided to stay in Austin instead of driving back at night. You can't beat the location and the food/drink options here and around here are prevalent. Valet parking was convenient. The rooms are nice and cozy with good views. Some of the charging ports were a little dated a the desk and only one side table had plug options, but we found a way to get everything plugged in. We had originally picked this hotel because it had an indoor pool, but the pool was way too chlorinated to enter and it was uncomfortable just being in the room. All-in-all, we'll had a good stay and will probably be back if we have plans in the immediate area again.Rooms: Nice rooms, but I noticed that all the plugs on the desk were loose and wouldn't hold a plug. There also weren't any USB ports at the desk. The bed had USB ports for charging on one side, but none on the other. No USB-c charging ports. Shower/Tub Combo and separate powder area in the bathroom. Single vanity, but reasonable amount of counter space with a small shelf and powder area.Nearby activities: Bars, theaters, and restaurants surround the place.Walkability: Very walkable to the capital, UT, 6th street, and other downtown hot spots.
Justin Godwin: The location can't be beat! The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel -- from the common areas to the rooms -- are nice and clean. However the rooms are in need of a refresh as they are looking quite dated. I also noticed what could only be described as chlorine upon arrival to my room, as if there was a swimming pool located down the hall from me on the 16th floor. My only guess is it's the cleaning products used for bathroom sanitation? Regardless, the room was comfy and quiet.

Gautam Andotra: Great location, Staff, Amenities and Food. The locations is really great, nice views, close to almost every thing in Austin. The pool, restaurant and bar are great. The on-site food is really really good. Staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. Parking is very convenient at the garage or valet. Location was safe and secure. Unfortunately, certain issues kept me from giving it 5 stars. The rooms are dated, need a refresh. Things like seeing room service items sitting in the hallway for a day is not ideal. They also didn’t adhere to some of my booking notes, and left a bottle of wine when we said we don’t drink. It’s the little things that can take this resort to the next level.
Jana Nolen: We picked this hotel on a whim for a very last minute trip to Austin during SxSW. The hotel was amazing and everyone we encountered was incredibly welcoming. The room was perfect, clean, and felt more cozy than the normal hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep! We will definitely go back to this hotel.

Suz NoneYa: We were lucky enough to get a room here during the ice storm this past week. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. This is the best LaQuinta location I’ve stayed at. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. Room was clean and updated. Our room has a door that opened about 25 feet away from the pool. We had no shower pressure issues as others have stated. There was a hot and cold breakfast bar available within a decent size dining area close to front door. Nice location to the shopping mall and next door to Whole Foods. I have paid much more to stay in hotels with higher ratings that were well below this hotel. All in all we were pleased with our stay and would def stay again.
