belin patrice: Best restaurant yet in Austin. 🏆I admit that I was skeptical, the Mexican aspect but no Mexican decoration or music, with a neat and classy side, I said to myself that it was a fool's errand. 🤔You pay a lot but you think it's good because you pay a lot. 💰A meal for 4 with incredible value for money. 🍽️Varied flavors and all excellent every time. 😋If I could give 6 stars, I would. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Well done, keep it up. 👍

Stephanie Schechter: The only reason it got a high service rating is the two amazing people at the bar that ended up taking over for my friend and I. The first guy was not friendly whatsoever. The food is insanely fresh, the woman helping out gave THE BEST suggestions and explanations. The whole fish is to die for!!

Deziray Hutchison: Hey. Love yalls food and place, been there in person several times, this time I ordered to go. But…why is this labeled as a focaccia? This a whole pizza. Just saying! It was obviously still delicious, but we ordered thinking it was share plate/app. Just a heads up to anyone else ordering this.

Lu Gü: Love love love Traverna for their chocolate Lava cake dessert! Its one of the best ones I’ve ever had!The starters are all great. We get the squash zucchini chips every time when we go! They come with a dip that is to die for.If you want the pasta in the cheese wheel, you need to be seated inside. They can’t do the cheese wheel presentation in the outdoor seating area unfortunately. The Chopped salat is amazing and you can change the protein from Chicken to salmon. When its someone’s birthday you get a free dessert! We got an amazing Panna Cotta!Parking: Parking Garage is close by and the restaurant can validate your ticket. You just need to tell the waiterWheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get into the restaurant!

Casey Petrone: The food was divine and the service was impeccable

Kimberlee Proudfoot: Nico was amazing at the bar

Nathan Kesterson: Wow wow wow! Last week date night at Taverna was incredible. We were immediately greeted at the door by the hostess and manager, sat promptly for our reservation. Our server Moriah was wonderful! She had loads of knowledge and recommendations for us. I had to get the risotto, which was cooked perfectly and paired well with our French Rosé. Tiramisu is our favorite dessert so it was an absolute MUST. After dinner we hung out at the bar and had espresso martinis in the back room. It was the perfect way to end the night. We’ll be back soon. Definitely a 10/10 and I highly recommend!

Pavel Dorozhkin: Kid-friendliness: Basic kids menu is 👍

Diana Kapsarev: It was our second time to enjoy our dinner in North Italia. The first time Roan gave us the best recommendation, we really enjoyed the delicious Calamari and Fungi pizza. Roan was very attentive and took excellent care of us. Tonight we chose the same dishes and Veronica took care of us, she said that it was her training shift and she also was amazing. We will be back! Thank you!

Storm Graham: Food was amazing!!! A bit over priced for what you get but really solid. Our server was Zema last week and she was amazing! Love an attentive server as they are hard to come by these days. Will be returning for dinner again soon!

Sean Birkenfeld: Amazing! So delicious!Fantastic staff and a great vibe too! 👏Parking: Typical parking situation for Austin.

JONATHAN NOVOA: Best chicken in th world 🌎

Weihan He: Chicken very juicy, tastes better than it looks, but tumble 22 is still better

Dan: One of the best fried chicken spots

Mike Fritsch: People said I should go here because their chicken was really good. Of course I was skeptical of the claim "world's best", but I really have to say that this indeed was the best fried Chicken I have ever had. Extremely juicy inside and the crispy breading was just a little bit spicy but perfect for my tastes. I loved it. The place has kind of a diner feel and the price is extremely reasonable for downtown Austin. You have to go there

Sandy Mac: Juicy, crispy and slightly spicy chicken! My first time here and I regret not coming sooner. Definitely some of the best chicken in town. I got the tenders and they were huge. Came out super hot. Enjoyed the mac and cheese and slaw with it. My sister got the two breast special they had going on. And of course we had to add the pecan pie and adult root beer float. Everything was fantastic and great suggestions from our server Charlie. He made the experience wonderful.

Dawn Rudman: we were sat to the left of the restaurant. He was very helpful and friendly. Wish I’d taken his name to thank him in review.Food was delicious.

Hunter Imler: Food: 5/5

Amani Codichini: Very good meal but somewhat expensive for what it was.* Oysters: bad!! A mix between fishy and tasteless* Beef tartare: excellent, very fresh and flavorful even without the chips* Wedge salad: very good* 75 days dry aged bone-in ribeye: the steak was cooked perfectly and it was very tender. The steak needed seasoning but there is the sea salt on the side that they light on fire, if you sprinkle this on the steak it becomes perfect.

Pablo del Segundo: and we were both delighted. Steakhouse atmosphere expectations were low since most in town are both loud and dark, but they struck the perfect balance. Even their music choice was superb- not blaring pop tunes. Service was superior, they were obviously either seasoned professionals, exceptionally well trained, or both. The food itself was fantastic, especially the steak and crown. My only criticism is that most of the asparagus spears were too thick for my preference, but it was still well cooked and seasoned. The complimentary birthday treats were unexpected by very welcomed and delicious. For a meal under $500, I feel like we got a $1000 experience. Will definitely return.

Robert Martínez: The place has a very good positioning, the attentiontension is at the first level and the food is excellent I recommend five stars for this place

dbodai: Spectacular experience at the bar 6pm Saturday night 4/27! Walked in and every seat was taken at the bar, but one of the bar tenders saw that we were struggling to find a spot and immediately jumped into action. He welcomed us and let us know he's working on getting us in. He was able to rearrange a reservation on the fly and get us a couple of seats quickly, which was great because we were in a hurry to eat and make it to a show. The next bar tender then took incredible care of us with amazing drinks and super quick and attentive service. We got our orders in right away and the food came out quickly even though the place was busy. Crab cake was on point as it always is. The entire experience was wonderful, but the bar staff going above and beyond was what really impressed. Cheers to that crew!!!

Travis Chatfield: Went here for dinner after my wedding and they made it a really special occasion for us. Charlie our server was awesome, super friendly and explained everything well. The atmosphere was nice, everything was incredibly clean and well prepped. The food was also incredible, I got the scallops, my newlywed wife got the steak special and for sides we got broccolini, crab fried rice, and lobster cheddar mashed potatoes. Can't even decide what was my favorite, it was all on point. I'm also impressed how good the oysters were for the price.I will 100% be back and I would recommend this place if you have a special occasion coming up.Parking: Valet is 15$, they do take cards and apple pay.

Alicia Hairgirl: When they say kid friendly they mean it. My husband and I got to enjoy a nice dinner while the staff doted on our daughter. Everything was perfect. Great last meal of our vacation!Kid-friendliness: They have a 3 course kids menu that is so special and thoughtful. Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with the family. The staff seem to authentically like kids too.

Nora R: medium rare. TRY IT!I had the Texas redfish with 2oz crab meat from their special. It was delightful. Same goes with their Brussel sprouts.Joshua was very attentive and efficient. Excellent service. Restaurant was busy that evening. Booking is essential.

James Skinner: Great atmosphere and the food was bangin'!Recommended dishes Grilled Asparagus, Usda Prime 18oz Bone-In Strip, Maine Lobster Bisque, Truffled Macaroni and Cheese, Bananas Foster on Fire …

Karissa Pfeffer: and tiramisu to bring home. The service was top notch. The next time we are in Austin we will be back!

Alex Eisenhauer: Was a wonderful experience filled with incredible food and had above and beyond service from our waitress Brandy. She nailed all recommendations, knew in depth of each item, and was pleasant to talk to. Everything was nailed besides our desserts. Starting for drinks the MEZZANNOTE was great with a vegan foam and smooth flavor. Satan's Circus was also good, being one of their most popular drinks, but did have a spicy kick. I preferred the mezzannote. Appetizer wise, we did the squash blossoms which were incredible and had a ton of flavor with the ricotta, garlic bread which was addicting, and also did the Bruschetta prime steak trimmings which is essentially trimmed steak they sell with bread. Bruschetta was very good and was a large portion, but i do wish the cheese was melted more or possibly shredded onto the dish as it was just a slice laid right in the middle. Main course wise we did the Blue crab tagliolini which was amazing and definitely a take home portion. Tagliolini was one of the best pastas I've had in Austin next to a pasta at Sammies. Potato gnocchi had great texture and was filled with amazing flavor. Another powerful dish. The only negatives were of the desserts. We were LET DOWN by the desserts. We had the olive oil cake, which was bland and surprisingly dry, and the cream filled doughnuts which were just ok. The desserts just felt like we were eating them, giving us no desire to look forward to taking another bite. We were comped for the desserts, but maybe we should have ordered the Tiramisu as it seems like that was the only dessert being walked out of the kitchen that night. Overall we will be back for their Pastas and Apps.Parking: Downtown so there is street parking if you find it, Pay parking lots, and valet.

Greg S: ever. There are a few nice touches, specially around the open kitchen and wine cellar - but it feels very much the familiar comfort spot we all know and love. The food is just as good as it was. We had the bread, octopus and bone marrow to start; all as full of flavor as can be and cooked to perfection. Our favorite here is the filet, and it was done exactly to a perfect medium rare - so soft in fact I was able to cut it with a spoon - and the char on the outside added that beautiful texture and richness that only open flame can. We also had the spaghetti and the carrots, both solid classics and very tasty. The service was on top form, every member of staff was only too happy to welcome us and put the extra touches to a wonderful evening dinner.Get yourself a reservation before everyone else realizes they’re back open. Just as before, Red Ash is not one to miss!

Rich Eklund: ! Everything was just as good as I had been dreaming of since last year. Excellent Italian food with fantastic service all at a reasonable price. Easy 10/10

Connor Brady: Easily the best Italian food in Austin, and in the running for best in the country.Chef owner… Italian food that looks, and tastes, like it’s in a magazine.Highly recommend the seafood pasta, it’s off the charts. That said, we’ve tried a few things on the menu and nothing was less than superb.

Anthony Holguin: 1 year since I've last eaten here and still dream of this meal. Cocktails, food, bread, desserts, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG! My wife and I have traveled all over the U.S, Europe, and South America, and still this is top 1-3 of places to eat on our list. Definitely the best restaurant in the U.S.A. Service is outstanding, and the Chef's table is an experience like no other. When my wife and I go to other restaurants and experience their chefs table, we are always disappointed because we compare everything to Red Ash. Red ash, please finish remodeling. My wife and I miss you and will keep calling every month until you re open. Thank you for one of the best meals/experiences we have ever had.

naijayemm: The guy at the takeout counter was very helpful. He brought me two samples of the kale aid refresher juice and bright eyes to try before purchasing which I appreciate! I bought the kale aid with some orange juice for sweetness. I also ordered the smoked Gouda turkey burger which was delicious! This was better than most standard turkey burgers I’ve eaten. Flavorful and fulfilling. I also got the umami potatoes which were yum. I would order this lunch again. Parking can be tricky if you can’t find any on the street.

Jenna Bitney: Always reliable for a lovely dining experience. Appetizer: must get the Green Chili Pork. One of my all time favorites here. Queso is also recommended . Entree: I ordered filet and was pleased. My other go to is the trout which another member of our party ordered and loved it . Free plentiful parking! Outdoor seating is recommended for pleasant views if temperature outside is to your liking.Parking: There's also a lower parking lot should the main parking be full.Wheelchair accessibility: Gentle ramp into restaurant then all on one level

Michael Smith: Disappointed in the Bison special. It was tough and not cooked to my specification. The tast was fine otherwise, but not worth $45 00. My wife had the cedar plank salmon and enjoyed it however the green beans were tough and hard to cut. My son had the 7 oz fillet with mash potatoes and enjoyed his meal.My weg salad was good. I also had huckleberry cheese cake for dessert and it was very average. Drinks were good and at a fair price.

Pamela Mc: Great place. Easy to walk to from many hotels. Great bar drinks and food!

April Rataski: Overall the food was pretty good. Loved the soup & the tacos were tasty. The flan was delicious! The table next to us was extremely loud but other than that it was great

Brian Mooney (mrmelooney): Manuel's was a great dining experience for our large group of 9 meeting in an outdoor patio with great decor. The meals were authentic and tasteful, artistically presented in a relaxed patio environment that combined for an unforgettable experience! I highly recommend this establishment based on this fine location!

BOB BROWN: One of the top 3 Mexican restaurants in Austin. Chicken and beef fajitas and queso are outstanding!

Kaitlyn Skinner: We always try to branch out and eat somewhere new, but end up deciding to eat here because we love it so much! Great queso and guac, and an awesome menu. It's fancy enough that we'll eat here before the ballet, but also can be relaxed enough to stop in when just strolling downtown. You definitely need to try it!

Leana Divine: My chile en nogada was tasty and I loved that it came with a side of fruit. I also enjoyed my cactus margarita. They have a gorgeous garden for outdoor dining and all the tables are spaced out well. They took our temperatures when we arrived and I felt safe eating there.

McChRisVentures Family: Came here for my birthday amazing food, drinks and service. The owner is super nice!

james martin: Great mole

Andy Ainsworth: Great service and selection. A distinctive take on Mexican food.

Blake Everhart: Very good Mole! Staff was on top of things

Lance Cox: That was probably the best Mole I've ever had

Pooja Patel: The mole is amazing! I had the mushroom enchiladas. The beans were a little too salty, but still good when mixed with the rice.

Keith Cantrell: Great food and margaritas!

Lila Aylstock: which was wonderful and highly recommend. I also had grilled tacos. Iced tea has a touch of two mints which is so much better than other restaurants. Perfect portions and reasonable lunch prices. Perfect service and we will be back soon.

John Bandy (Home): Excellent food and service!

Troy Eddy: Top notch sushi in Texas. A well informed and attentive staff who were well versed in menu items and had plenty of recommendations for first timers like me. Quality sushi, sashimi, and other authentic Japanese dishes.

django fox: Ordered the omakase. Decided last minute to add hot rock & edamame. I noted that I do not want it to interfere with the timing of the omakase, and please serve as ready. It was roughly a 45 minute delay after the hot rock waiting for our next dish. Total time spent - 3 hours.I'll come back and re-visit this review after my next visit and hopefully can update it to 5 stars. Thank you, UchiKo!

Dave Gussin: Exquisite experience end to end. Good quality, presentation and service was top notch. Highly recommended.Parking: Free valet

Stephanie Dyer: 10/10 every time. I just wish there was a contact email because the valet tipping link didn’t work. I didn’t realize it would be this difficult to leave a tip/find an email to try and leave a tip.Behind on technology but their food and service is perfection every time. We liked some orders better than others but not a single bad item. This is the spot we are lucky enough to visit twice a year.

Sophie Coulson: Service and food was great at first, then 10:15 arrived and all service ended. Our wine glasses were swiped away and our last order of warm nigiri arrived. I suspect a manager went home, but regardless of the reason, service stopped and the priority seemingly became finishing up and getting us out of there, despite it being 45 minutes prior to last call at the kitchen.

Sharon Cho: Reservation required ~ Although the Uchi brand has now opened in other cities, Uchiko is still only available in Austin. Personally, it was more delicious than Uchi.I ordered the happy hour omakase.I didn't want a filler menu that would only fill my stomach, so I asked for it to be removed and was able to customize it a bit!In the case of nigiri, I felt it was lightly seasoned, so I asked for coarse salt and ate it, and it tasted much better.I highly recommend Kinoko maki with mushrooms!!!

Sabina Dalipova: The food and service were both amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's extremely popular, and it's easy to see why. Here's what I tried:The shrimp corn dogs were exceptional—I could taste the freshness of the shrimp! They were served with a mustard/blueberry sauce that was simply fantastic. The pretzel and pimento cheese were delightful. The pretzels were warm and delicious, and the pimento cheese was wonderfully creamy and savory. The Chicken Fried steak was massive, and the mashed potatoes were both creamy and garlicky—I loved them. The chicken steak itself was delicious, and the gravy sauce on top made it absolutely perfect.

Bo Winter: Always enjoy coming to Capital Grille when the opportunity arises. Food is fantastic and the wait staff is always engaging to contribute to the experience; not simply asking if we need a refill or "thinking about dessert." Obviously a bit pricey, so this isn't a location where I frequently can be found, but for special occasions, I would always recommend it for a nice date out, business dinner, etc.

Andrew Goh: Yesterday, heavy rain in Austin led us to seek refuge in a nearby bar while hunting for a satisfying BBQ joint. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a charming, slightly upscale restaurant nearby. Serendipitously, we encountered a fellow countrywoman at the reception who warmly welcomed us and escorted us to our table. She graciously engaged us in conversation and treated us to complimentary wine, while also recommending must-try dishes. We began with the South African lobster tail, delighting in its perfectly cooked meat and buttery sauce, which paired impeccably with our wine selection. As an avid oyster enthusiast, I couldn't resist ordering half a dozen, savoring their briny sweetness. Although the tuna tartare was fresh, it lacked the flavor punch I anticipated, though still enjoyable. Our meal concluded with lamb chops accompanied by Brussels sprouts cooked with bacon bits. While the sprouts were overly sweet for my taste, the lamb chops suffered from slight overcooking, possibly due to their thin cut, diminishing the meat's inherent sweetness during grilling. Great service and attentive!

Brandi: Food was great, perfectly cooked steaks, amazing sauces and sides, everything was perfect.Amazing service as well, our server Chris G. was attentive while leaving us space, and gave great service and recommendations throughout the night. Thank you Chris and the whole Capital team!

a rob: Place is pretty good. I normally goto Eddie V’s but I was super impressed. Good was good. Ribeye with balsamic glaze done pitsburg was super tender and flavorful. Cream of spinach, lobster Mac, mash potato’s, potato’s Au Gratin were all good. I still think eddy V’s waiters are more on point and professional. Capital is definitely going to be visited quite often.

bregamos: I had a great lunch over at Stella. I really enjoyed how friendly the hostess was and the server, Yndira. Yndira was great because she took the perfect amount of time to get to know why I was in the Austin area which made me feel great as a guest at the restaurant. The staff seems to really share in the responsibility of providing each guest quality service.

Heather Hall: I’m a bit late in posting this review because honestly, I thought I had already done it but when I realized I had not I had to come and make sure I did! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stella SJ! We had a brunch for approximately 60 people after my daughter’s wedding ceremony at the nearby courthouse in December 2023 . From the time we began working with them the staff was so friendly, helpful, and patient! We came in at 11 AM on a Tuesday which is turnover time for their kitchen from breakfast to lunch but they still were able to work things around and accommodate brunch for us by having us pre-order. This reception brunch was only for close family and friends so we were able to get the pre-orders easily. When guests began to arrive the staff had essentially memorized the orders and knew them by name! Instead of a Groom’s cake we did brownies and the kitchen baked us a fabulous selection and they were delicious! The staff was incredibly accommodating with allowing us to come early and bring in some small decorations and table arrangements as well as letting us set up a macaron tower that we brought in as the wedding cake. We never felt rushed or in the way, and the staff was friendly as well as discreet and respectful as different people got up to speak during the reception. Also, they never made us feel rushed to clean up. We were able to go and visit and take pictures around the hotel for a short time before taking everything down. My contact with the waitstaff was Mary but the other servers were excellent as well and really made us feel welcomed and special! They were even able to reserve a parking space for the bride and groom so they could make their quick getaway without having to deal with valet or the… interesting … Austin parking downtown. Stephanie and Claire handled this fairly quick set of arrangements with professionalism and a willingness to help make this event unique as special as we wanted it to be! I almost forgot to mention one of the most important things which was working within our budget! They were very reasonable compared to many places downtown but the food was definitely better than many of the other places we tried. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, friendly, and accommodating, and we would absolutely host another event there!

Doreen Carvalho: was the most pleasant server and made our first meal in Austin taste even better with her warm personality. She made us feel very welcome. Is that the southern charm?Thankyou to the host Mike for sitting us in Jillian’s section. It’s people like Jilly whose hospitality will make this trip memorable.

James Elvidge: Nice upscale atmosphere. There are lots of seating variations from booths and tables to high top tables and a bar. Would be great for a business meeting, date night, or a delicious bite!I very much enjoyed all of the food. The wagyu large plate was simply amazing. The hunny butter biscuits were great, and the andouille sausage deviled eggs were also a big hit!We arrived a bit early for dinner service, and the host greeted us with a smile and prompt service. After explaining that dinner service would not start, tell 5pm we chose a high top table in the bar area and got some starters. The bartender who was taking care of us initially was very kind and was working hard to be attentive to us while running the bar and doing a good job. At 5 p.m., the wait staff took over and was also quite kind. However, when we were served our dinner, we had to request silverware and napkins. We were never offered a replacement beverage or desert. However, they were quite attentive to filling our water glasses, which was appreciated. After our plates were cleared, it took an excessive amount of time to get the check and complete the payment transaction with our waitstaff.Overall the staff was good and the experience was good. I would return here again! The food was so good!

Shaw Cole: What a wonderful start to our anniversary! Jillian was incredibly nice and attentive; she absolutely made our special day even more special!I had the best smoked salmon benedict of my life thanks to her suggestionThe food was quick to come out and brilliantly made10/10 would recommend 👍🏼
