Coach Lateef/Jen, Kyle, Courtney are second to none and make each individual participant feel like your success is theirs as well. From their patience in explaining proper form outside of class, to giving nutritional advice, their patience and encouragement make going to the gym feel more accessible and less of a chore. I have attended other group fitness classes in the past but must say this has felt the most personalized and rewarding. Also offers a variety of training options including CrossFit small group workouts, Olympic lifting instruction, as well as Range and Resilience training. A variety of personal training options are also available. Challenging workouts, but always a pleasure.

Shane Livingston: CFA is hands down the best CrossFit gym I have ever been to. The programming is phenomenal, community is welcoming and the coaches are all amazing. Every single one of them. I met with Dylan at CrossFit Austin and I instantly knew he was the perfect Personal Trainer for me, and that he would help me accomplish my goals.I've now been working with Dylan a couple times a week for almost a year. I can't believe how strong and physically confident I've become working with Dylan. My body can now do things I would have never imagined it could do. He has helped me gain new strength after being diagnosed with Osteoporosis a few years ago, and has been helping me rebuild my health from a year of breast cancer treatments in 2017. I feel sure that when I am next tested for the Osteoporosis it will show that I've gained new bone since the last test.. I am confident that the strength training I've been doing with Dylan is the best thing I could be doing for my body and my health.I told Dylan when we started that I wanted to be a woman that could get up and down off the floor with ease at 90. I know that I will be that woman because I now know what my body is capable of when I exercise it properly and regularly. I feel great, I have more energy, I look young and fit, and I know that I'm a strong and healthy 60 year young woman.I can not recommend Dylan and CrossFit Austin enough. It's NOT your typical CrossFit Gym! I suggest you give it a try, whether it's for their group training classes or personal training.

Jaime Jones: Best Gym ever!! Lumos is such a fun and welcoming community and I am so happy I discovered it. The workouts are great and the people are even better. I love how supportive and encouraging everyone is and also how there are always plenty of workout variations so I always have something to do even when I’m not feeling my best. 10/10 recommend!

Alex Spitz: To anyone scared or intimidated by "cross fit" classes, this is for you! I was nervous and on the fence after my initial meeting with Noah that it took me a year to sign up. My advice? DON'T WAIT to experience the pure joy that Lumos Fitness is. They have dedicated coaches that work with you to support all fitness levels and the community is top tier. I feel stronger than I have been and look forward to seeing what 2024 will bring. This is an excellent gym to propel you into your best self.

Anastasiia Semenets: Prior to joining Lumos, I was doing a fitness program on my own at my condo’s gym. I was feeling like progress was happening, but very slowly. I was also feeling very isolated. I have been with Lumos for 1,5 months now, and I’m loving it. The foundations program taught by JoAllen was extremely useful, and gave me a great overview of what to expect from group classes, and taught me so many things I’ve never done before. After I started group classes, I learned that they are challenging enough to make sure you get stronger with each workout, but still manageable for someone who has never done CrossFit before. The social aspect of this gym is a huge thing for me personally. Everyone is extremely nice, engaging and supportive. The coaches are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I look forward to coming to gym every single time, and excited to see how much stronger and fitter I’ll become.

Mindy Alfarache: We have tried several different trainers and gyms for our daughter to train with, none which took the time to understand her needs as a national competitive fencer who was also being recruited by a DIV 1 Fencing college. Our daughter was looking for a trainer who would understand her needs as an athlete but also would take the time to teach her about nutrition. It wasn't until Sierra Nevels at Austin Simply Fit was recommended to her that it truly made all the difference for her. Sierra took the time to understand Fencing and what it takes to be a top fencer. Fencing is a sport that is solely focused on one side of your body and competitions are based on pool rounds followed by direct elimination bouts, so as the day goes on the bouts get harder and harder. Unfortunately as they train for fencing their prominent leg and arm become much larger than the other side which can lead to injuries. Sierra worked really hard with our daughter to help even out the muscle mass so it is equally as strong on both sides, which has helped reduce the number of injuries. Sierra also took the time to educate our daughter on the nutrition your body needs in order to maintain the stamina needed to be competitive at her best all day. As a parent it has been amazing to watch the difference in our daughter as she has trained with Sierra. Our daughter has the strength to compete against much larger competitors, has the stamina needed to continue all day and has the confidence needed to be a top fencer at a national level as well as a strong team member for her DIV 1 college fencing team this fall! I can't say enough about Sierra, except I wish we found her sooner.

Jonathan Lamb: Sierra Nevels has done an outstanding with her athletic development and performances class. She does a great job explaining and making sure proper technique is being followed. Jaxton is loving it.

Colely Thompson: My daughter started training with Sierra at Austin Simply Fit in April 2023 ahead of try outs for the Junior National USA team for women’s flag football in North Carolina. The transformation was awesome to watch. She ran faster, jumped higher than ever and the quick twitch movements were much improved. But what was most impressive were her strength gains in the gym and her power and explosiveness. She made the national team for team USA and won gold in final game against Japan. She has continued to train with Sierra and has recently been awarded a scholarship to go play flag football in college. Much of her success is directly related to the drive and push from the gym. The gains in the weight room and improved performance have changed and shaped her entire physique. I cannot thank Sierra enough for her time and investment in Nelly.

Jacob Pennell: Anyone who's had experience with a multitude of gyms would say this gym is compact but perfect. Also, the guys who run it are incredibly friendly and encouraging. Do not let these negative comments deter you from getting your workout in at a great affordable gym in the heart of the 512. It seems to me that the ones throwing low ratings at this location has bigger problems than this gym and it's operators. If you intend to do some work and better yourself, this is the spot. Peaceful and has ALL of the tools.

I have a neck and back injury that has held me back with workouts. I’m so thankful for Angela- she has helped me heal my injury as well as gain my strength back. Private training with her is the best investment I have made for myself. If you’re considering private training consider this a sign that Angela is your girl! I also love that the gym is small and has very convenient parking.

The coaching staff is incredible helpful and the programming is great. I’ve also been able to benefit from prenatal and postpartum training which was a total game changer. Hannah Danford: I am currently 12 months postpartum with my first baby and just recently finished a half marathon thanks to the help of the staff at CrossFit Renew. This was a BIG TIME win for myself and something I wanted to accomplish prior to trying for baby number two. I’ve not only learned so much through their personal and postpartum training programs but I’ve felt seen and heard in my postpartum struggles as well as encouraged to continue to make strides forward, even if they are incremental. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and beyond accommodating - I live in Houston and they’ve been working with me remotely via FaceTime to help me reach my goals. Lourdes Ortiz: Time and time again, I tried a new gym and quickly gave up...until I found Crossfit Renew.From the very first day, I felt like I was being set up for success. When I first joined, I felt incredibly limited. A short walk up the stairs would get me winded. Even standing or kneeling for short periods of time was challenging. But at every point, the coaches have met me where I am at. They taught me proper form and provided alternatives for every movement I could not yet do. Little by little, I have seen the improvement. Six months later, I have never felt better.Between the classes and the Nutrition Program, I have ever felt more supported. In the Nutrition Program, for example, we have broken up nutrition into smaller, more manageable habits. From eating habits to sleeping habits, we talk about my holistic wellbeing, and look for obstacles and how to manage them. As a plus size woman, I appreciate that I get more than a simple, restrictive diet; I get customized advice, I always feel like we are working towards my health and fitness goals, rather than an arbitrary beauty standard.The classes are small enough that we always get personalized attention and thorough feedback when needed, but large enough to build a sense of community. Everyone is always pushing hard, but I never get the sense that I am being judged by either the coaches or the other gym-goers. The staff patiently teach me new, more complex variations any time they see consistent improvement, and the other gym members encourage me to do my best, no matter what that may be that day.It is easy to join a gym with tons of enthusiasm, only to burn out quickly when pushed too hard. But the coaches at Renew emphasize consistency and accountability. I truly believe I have been set up for success, and I cannot wait to see how the team at Renew keeps helping me improve my health and fitness.

If you are a beginner the trainer scales each exercise individually for you, I really appreciate it. The atmosphere is very friendly and supportive. There is a very convenient mobile application where I can track my progress. So, I highly recommend CrossFit Renew for both advanced and beginners.

You can get a good workout at a lot of boxes, but Renew has got that and so much more.They’ve achieved in their culture a fine balance to CrossFit that I think a lot of boxes lack.They want you to lift heavy, but they also want your squat snatch to look like butter. And they’ll help you get there.They want you to scale appropriately, but they’ll also call you out if you’re sandbagging a workout or lift.They want you to be in the box often, but they are quick to tell you to recover well and take rest days.They challenge you to have good nutrition and then they go a step further and offer opportunities that equip you with the knowledge and accountability to actually achieve good long term nutrition habits.All that is great and then the people that back all that up are probably the best part of the culture. Everyone is super friendly, coaches and members. You can actually get to know people and make friends. Members have had house parties where the whole gym is invited. People compete with each other for leaderboard position but no one ever tears another person down with stupid side comments.It’s a great gym. I never plan on leaving.

Sarah Beville: Had the opportunity to participate in the Core & Floor Workshop put on by CrossFit Renew earlier this summer. It was such an enlightening and hands-on workshop that touched on theory and allowed for practical application all in one. This was good foundational workshop for anyone wanting to build strength in their pelvic floor and I highly recommend! The coaches were a wealth of knowledge. The workshop also came with a personal training and pelvic floor physical therapy session that were really excellent in helping me target my specific areas of pain and building a program/routine around supporting that specifically.I am not local to Austin but will be looking for opportunities to work with this team again!

As I told Lex, I am often hard to please given my high expectations and that I am very specific and particular in what I want out of a service. Lex did an incredible job of tailoring my training to fit all my requests. Upon completing my training, I feel way more confident in my form on my compound lifts, have created a more diverse workout routine, and have added the often missing element of rest and recovery. She did a phenomenal job assisting me, and I appreciate the added bonus of being able to able to pick my own music for sessions. I couldn’t recommend the service more, and encourage anyone in proximity or on the fence to check this gym out and work with Lex.

Fallon Connor: The trainer Josiah was great! Everything I told him I needed to work on was incorporated in our workouts. I was having ankle issues which was causing issues with my knees. He had me do some movements to strengthen the muscles connecting to my ankle and my ankle mobility has improved so much. Overall I am much stronger and more knowledgable about what movements work best for me.

Colin: Amazing gym and definitely worth the cost!It's larger than it appears on the outside. Once you enter, there are lots of different rooms for classes, a room for treadmills, a room for 4 squat racks, the gym near the entrance area, and an outside area for workouts.Friendly staff and class instructors are great. There are classes all throughout the day, including the evenings. The Castle Hill Fitness Mobile app makes it easy to search for and book classes.I never thought I would pay $118/month for a gym membership, but I really like this place. Good vibes and friendly people. Plus, I like supporting an independent business rather than some chain gym.One area that could use improvement is the free weight area. It's a very small area. It can fit at most 3 people.Luckily, they do allow you to take the weights to the outside area nearby.Their gift shop next door is leaving, so maybe they could use that space for another free weight area? Just an idea.Anyways, all in all, a great gym! Sadly, I'm moving away so I had to cancel. But hopefully I can be back some day.

This has been great for my girlfriend.All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who values a quiet, efficient, respectful and inclusive workout environment enough to front the costs. To me they have been beyond worth their weight.

However, it still has the charm of a quaint mom and pop gym. I love getting greeting by the staff's friendly smiles, and Sam Boucher always happily/promptly helps me with my questions and requests. Also a big fan of the classes!

Leah Frizzell: Lovely gym, very good, solid equipment and no one was in the weight room. NOT CROWDED! Lots of amenities and classes - and this looks like a small building but once you get in it keeps going and going. Polite staff is welcoming and took the time to show me through the entire gym. The price is comparable to high end gyms in the area and this facility is far better than anything else I’ve seen in the Austin area.
