Deciding to take up flute as an adult can be daunting but Nuria set me at ease. She is such a friendly person and clearly very passionate about flute and music studies. Her approach to teaching worked so well for me as she was very flexible. Instead of spending endless hours during scales and mouth posture, instead Nuria suggested we start learning a few pieces I could already read sheet music and the technical elements we would touch upon as we went. She has such a great way of expressing her thoughts and ideas and helped me visual things in my head that improved my sound. At Christmas she was more than happy to put on a santa hat and duet with me for a recording! What a cool person. Highly recommended.


I have had the pleasure of knowing Leah for the past 5 years, 2 of which she was a student of mine at Long Beach City College. She has performed in my wind ensemble and various chamber ensembles. I've been taking guitar lessons from Blake for about 6 months now. I started with literally 0 knowledge of the guitar and I can now play 2 songs! And like, songs with chords and stuff, not just a couple of notes! Blake is great. He is easy to talk to, supportive when it's clear I need the support, and is incredibly patient when it's clear I need some patience. It's very evident that he is an extremely knowledgeable and gifted musician, which means I could take lessons from him for years and still learn something every time. Another thing I appreciate about Blake... he asks what my goals are and what I want to learn, and then tailors the lessons to my specific goals. I just wish I would have started lessons 15 years ago when I first thought about it.
