Simply speaking, Pilates is a specific series of exercises that address the body as a whole, including the breath, nervous system, alignment, balance, and attention to how the muscles move and stabilize the joints. Pilates exercises use specific pieces of Pilates equipment: the Pilates Reformer, the Pilates Chair, and the Pilates Tower to name a few. Some Pilates exercises can also be performed on the floor with a mat, and there are various props and aids.


Most people know Pilates for its exceptional development of the core. However, there’s more! A functional core is more than hard abdominals and a “six-pack”. A functional core includes the abdominal muscles as well as several others from the shoulder all the way to the pelvis. The ability to appropriately move the spine as well as stabilize it while moving the extremities is part of having a functional core.

There is not much awareness and attention paid to what the body is doing. Ann is an amazing teacher. She is knowledgable, caring and patient. If I walk in the studio feeling tired, I leave energized. If I walk in with the weight of the world on my shoulders, I leave feeling taller and more poised. If I walk in with a muscle pain, I leave pain free. I'm in awe of her ability to pinpoint tiny adjustments to prevent strains or, better yet, slowly alter a physical weakness stemming from years of poor posture or something similar. She doesn't baby you; she pushes you. But not in an forceful way. You just want to do better with her-- you trust that she knows when to add pressure because the limitation is imagined and when to ease up. Her sessions have made me feel better-aligned, fit, more graceful, and stronger. Lucky you if you get a chance to work with her.

I am a 60+ woman still in the workforce hopefully another five to seven years... The benefits were beyond my comprehension; flexibility,stability, core strength,and healthy mindset are just a few....Dana tuned in immediately to what I was striving for and kept that gentle corrective push.....She totally loves Pilates and it shows!!!

As a retired physician I am attracted to the Pilates Studio for several reasons. The variety provided by the different machines and Ann’s expertise keeps me feeling enthusiastic about the workouts. As I learned to use my upper back, my shoulder pain resolved. As my core strengthened, I lifted my grandchildren properly without back pain. My neck pain resolved along with the improvement in my posture. And I can still turn a few heads along the way!

Very welcoming and inclusive environment, with classes full of all body types, ages, and fitness levels. Todd is a great instructor and does an excellent job of demonstrating the moves and keeping you on pace. Classes are challenging, but still accessible to newcomers. Lots of variations for your fitness level/physical mobility and there's no shame in taking a quick breather when you need it. You'll leave feeling sore but energized!

They had my area set up with a little name tag before I showed up for my first class. It made me feel welcomed and included :)

I do a lot of Pilates and this was definitely challenging and unique! It was fast paced but we were encouraged to do whatever felt comfy for us. I definitely got a great workout in which is important to me when I spend time going into a studio vs working out at home.

Todd is an amazing instructor! Not only has my core strength improved over time, but the range of motion in my joints has improved dramatically as well. I really appreciate that Todd takes the time to arrange music to fit every movement of every class and changes the lineup of exercises all the time as well. Todd also keeps the energy fun, but you always get an intense workout. He offers a range of levels for every exercise, so as you get stronger, you can try the more difficult version of each exercise.

I absolutely LOVE Todd Pilates! I take the Pilates | Barre | Yoga fusion class with Jordan and she is an amazing instructor. Very sweet and easy to follow. Her class was my first one and it got me hooked. I've also taken a pilates class with Todd and loved it as well! His class was my first pilates only class and it did not disappoint. I felt so good afterwards! This is the first time I've actually enjoyed and looked forward to working out.
