steven vague: Lauri Turner of Hatbox REALLY knows what she’s doing. Here’s my story:I am a bit of a control freak. Okay, I’m a BIG control freak. And as a stage performer, I had a very firm idea about what kind of new hat I wanted to buy. I have a friend in the clothing business that recommended Lauri at Hatbox. I scheduled an appointment with Lauri, at which time I sent her the specifics of what I was looking for. When I arrived at the appointment several weeks later, she had already picked out the kind of hat that SHE thought would be best for me. Admittedly, I was thrown by her going rogue on me. The only specification that she had matched was that the hat was extremely lightweight and had good ventilation through the fibers. I was prepared to dig in my heels and refuse her suggestion, but she was such a convincing salesperson, that I agreed to buy the hat she had suggested. Part of her sales pitch included the A-list of actors and musicians that she had sold hats to.I left the appointment that day with a new hat and mixed feelings. But then as the hours and the days past, my feelings changed. I started to fall in love with the hat. I had several opportunities right away to use the hat on stage, and my love for the hat grew. And - I never ever dreamed I would say this about an item of clothing - my confidence level increased because the hat looks SO GOOD on me.I laugh at myself now, because I was initially so resistant to Lauri’s suggestion, and now I can’t imagine a hat that I would love more than this one. Paul Curry: Took my grandson into the store today and worked with Bryce to get two hats fitted and shaped. Wonderful experience. Bryce did a nice fairly open crown with a pencil roll brim for me on a 7x silver belly Stetson. He then did a brick top crown and slight front dip accented with a shallow rolled brim on another 7x silver belly Stetson. This is not a five minute process as Bryce made sure to keep proportions of the hat in mind. Great service and quality products.

Inge: We hosted a company team building event at Maufrais for all our board members that were in town for strategic meetings. I cannot recommend this highly enough! The staff were amazing, from all the planning in advance to all the details on the day of our event. All the staff assisting selecting and customizing the hats were so knowledgeable and fun. The accessories they set up in the private back room were all selected towards our group. We brought our own drinks and snacks and by the time I came back from parking my car they unpacked everything and arranged the whole set up. This was not their first rodeo, and you can tell, they made my job on the organizing side a breeze! If you have any doubts, don't and just go for it! 11/10!

As a person who loves vintage and has an eclectic style these are by far my favorite suits and truly like no other. Chris and Wendy are very helpful and welcoming, offering good styling suggestions if you need some direction.
